Good First Impressions
is a charitable non-profit organization created by a teenage girl, with a passion for serving her community. The Board of Directors are also teenagers willing to lend a helping hand. 
 
 
Mission Statement: The mission of Good First Impressions is to...
 
  • create a means for those who enjoy the good fortune related to advisors and clients of the financial services industry, and their staffs, to share from their abundance with those who have opportunities to improve their situation, but for lack of appropriate clothing.

  • provide a program by which business attire, which is often replaced for various reasons while it is still fashionable and in good contidion, can be recycled for the benefit of those with the greatest combination of need and opportunity to utilize these items.

  • to help those in need of a second chance to have the benefit of a good first impression for job interviews, court appearances, or to begin a wardrobe of business attire for a new employment opportunity already secured.

Men’s or Women’s Items in good condition and fashionable* at the time of donation
• Shoes
• Belts, Suspenders
• Suits
• Dress Slacks
• Dress Shirts
• Sport Jackets
• Dress Skirts
• Dress Blouses
• Ties
• Cufflinks, Pocket Silks, and any other accessories
• Wallets, Purses, Leather Card Cases, Pocket Calendars (If you have something else you think would be useful, please ask.)

 

 

 

Criteria for receiving gifts of clothing from Good First Impressions are as follows:

 

  • The recipient must be able to demonstrate economic need and a lack of adequate or appropriate apparel for the specified purpose.
    The Recipient must be in need of professional/business apparel for the purposes of interviewing for educational or employment opportunities, or... for beginning new employment in a position which requires business/professional apparel. This can also include persons attempting to start their own business and who otherwise meet the criteria.
    The recipient may also be a social service client in need of appropriate apparel to wear to court, if appearing as a non-offender in a family or juvenile court case, and if referred and recommended by a legitimate social service organization.
  • Whenever possible, recipients and/or their sponsoring organizations will be given the opportunity to give back by volunteering time to the organization for the purpose of picking up donations, or managing inventory.
 
 
Criteria for Distribution of Clothing by Good First Impressions are as follows: 
 
  • Gifts of clothing may be made by Good First Impressions directly to qualified recipients, or...
  • indirectly through bulk donations to social service and/or other charitable organizations who serve the targeted population and are willing to agree to our criteria for distribution.
    The Board of Directors of Good First Impressions and/or their designated administrator is free to revise or make exception to the above criteria at any time for just cause. If this occurs, donors will be advised of such changes.
